Duong Do is a social worker and human geographer by training. Before his postgraduate studies in Australia and Singapore, Duong worked in an international NGO in Vietnam that provides psychosocial supports for survivors of gender-based violences. He also assisted other grassroots groups with organisational development by using creative art tools and processes. In 2013, Duong co-founded Back to School – an initiative to ensure children who experienced gender-based education can continue their education. Previously, he has also worked closely with Huong Dang to conceptualise HopeBox when the two met in Australia while doing their masters. As a member of Hopebox’s BOD, Duong hopes his social work and research experiences will be adding values and making HopeBox a trauma-informed and innovative social enterprise.
